The Educators Award Committee is charged with the responsibility of selecting an appropriate book as winner of the annual Educators Award. The committee recognizes women authors whose educational research and writing potentially impact the thoughts and actions of today’s complex society. I´m the only one from Europe in this committee, the other ladies are from different areas in the US. DKG has a list of editors/publishers and they send books to members of the committee in the US. I get a mail copy to read because it would take too long to send me  the book. There are certain rules about which books can be a possible choice like there must not be more than two authors.
In this Covic times, The Book Award Committee meets on the net when we meet, which is not very often. This year we read just a few books. After we have read the books our excellent helper Trish Woodely sends us questions about the different books and everyone writes their opinion on the book and sends in the answers. Via this questionnaire it was obvious this time who the winner was. If we had had different opinions I guess we would have to discuss who the winner would be. This year we chose Karen Gross to be the winner of the Award of 2021. The title of the book is Trauma Doesn't Stop at the School Door. We were in agreement of the winner because the book described a dream world that could come true in some countries.  So this year it was an easy task.
