I was always fascinated by the stained glass in churches. When I was searching for a new hobby, I immediately thought of this. I am not good at drawing and a stained glass course was offered in Bergen on Zoom.
The craftsmanship of this hobby especially touched me. You have to draw, design, apply the lead and shape it to the glass. When you draw it goes into the oven and the pigment stays in it. You then apply the lead and only when it is finished, you see the result when it is lifted up and the light falls through. Magical.
I have really enjoyed this hobby that surprised me. It has brought me a lot. I have done it for about 7 years. My house is full with stained glass and I only make it for myself. I cannot give it away
Warm greetings of Jeannine de Jong
