Afghani women have since 2001 enjoyed a totally different kind of freedom than they have today. Millions of girls have attended schools, gained higher education degrees, as well as leading positions in the workforce.
Twenty years later, during the summer of 2021, the Taliban regained power of the country. The speed of their takeover shocked many.
As a result, new rules and regulations have been implemented. At present, girls have limited access to schooling up to the age of twelve. They are banned from further education after this age.
A deacon at the University of Kabul, was quoted in the New York Times saying that

• women will be banned for an indefinite period, from studying and teaching at Afghanistan’s most traditional university.

 No women teachers may teach at secondary schools or universities.
Thousands of women teachers have lost their jobs and income.
Every day Human Rights are broken in Afghanistan.
