The first meeting with DKG Europe Region out-going and in-coming State Presidents took place on June 1 on Zoom. We thank the out-going presidents for their work for DKG as we welcome the in-coming presidents whom we look forward working with.

- Names and mail addresses of Membership Chair, EEC Chair, Treasurer of State Organisation should be sent to ERD Margarita by June 10 the latest for completing a training list of in-coming officers (Atlanta July 30-August 1) or a recorded training for Europe on August 14-15. Post training conversation groups will take place in late September or at the beginning of October.

Join Nancy Rhodes, director, writer, and educator for a conversation about inspiration, the creative process, and making theatre productions and friends across borders. Dr. Elizabeth Rapp Tarner will serve as moderator, and Carol Linscott will serve as registrar.

Nancy Rhodes, Artistic Director of Encompass New Opera Theatre in New York City, grew up in a farming town in Pennsylvania, lived in Ohio and resides in New York City. Music opened the door to the world where she has staged American musicals and operas in Albania, Finland, five cities in Holland, Korea, Norway, Sweden, two cities in Turkey, and many eastern bloc countries during the last ten years of the Cold War. She also founded Paradigm Shifts, Music & Film Festival, dedicated to preserving our Planet, oceans, wildlife, and sacred land.
Nancy staged the world premiere of Kirke Mechem’s Tartuffe for San Francisco Opera, Virgil Thomson’s Lord Byron at Alice Tully Hall, and The Astronaut’s Tale at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Internationally, she directed Death in Venice (Stockholm), Carmen (Oslo), Happy End (Finland), Kiss Me Kate (Ankara and Albania, filmed for TV), West Side Story (Istanbul), and Eccentrics, Outcasts and Visionaries: A Century of American Opera for the Holland Festival (Amsterdam). At Encompass she staged over 65 operas, including Gertrude Stein/Virgil Thomson’s The Mother of Us All, Britten’s Phaedra, Frid’s The Diary of Anne Frank, and Anna Christie by Edward Thomas. She taught Acting for Singers at Manhattan School of Music for twelve years.
Registration is open to everyone, and space is limited to 100 participants. A waitlist will be kept for additional scheduled webinars. The deadline to register is Saturday, June 5. All registrants will receive the Zoom meeting invitation by Wednesday, June 9, in a follow-up email.
